Join the Reconstruction

We recognize that not everyone is ready to invest or build a business for better. If that’s you, we wish you well. There are others who are ready and eager to help you on that journey. Come on back when you are ready. You’ll be welcome.

We choose to speak to the choir. You know who you are. You are investors and capital allocators actively seeking opportunities to put capital to work for financial AND racial, gender, and social equity. You are founders building businesses addressing real problems with innovative technology driven solutions. You are activists, authors, organizers, policymakers, educators, and citizens committed to a more equitable, resilient, and prosperous society.

For citizens of the emerging ecosystem

In 2019 we tallied up well over a hundred other US-based investing practices we knew who focused primarily or in part on womxn and/or BIPOC founders. That didn’t even count the accelerators, incubators, peer groups, and other organizations specifically serving our target population of BIPOC and womxn founders — let alone other underestimated founder populations. Since then the community has proliferated at an inspiring rate, and we are thrilled by that vigorous expansion.

Meaningful system change will not happen as a result of a single magic bullet or monoculture. It will require a multitude of efforts, each successful in its own specific endeavor. And yet if we all are merely working massively in parallel, that still will not suffice. Our success in creating racial, gender, and social equity will be commensurate with the degree to which we are able to join forces as a fully interconnected and interactive community.

In hope of encouraging or even catalyzing new connections, we happily share our unscientific tally, acknowledging that it is certainly incomplete.

Please peruse the roster of peers and allies on our Third Party Resources page to identify and connect with partners, collaborators, and allies.

If you are a member of the ecosystem not represented, please let us know so we can connect with you.

And if you are interested in working with us, please let us know how!
