Wow. I know the Reinventure team is far from alone in wishing 2020 so long and good riddance.
Those of you who are parents, godparents, aunties / uncles, or caretakers to small children will recognize the reference when I say it was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year.
And yet even in a year that seemed determined to sear itself into collective memory, there were moments of joy, empathy, heroism, and hope.
None of us know what 2021 has in store, but here at Reinventure we are heartened by all the amazing ways you and others are showing up to create system change, to ensure that all are accorded dignity along with inviolable basic rights, to establish justice and ensure domestic tranquility, to complete the Third Reconstruction and provide universal emancipation and economic self-sufficiency, to secure and safeguard a healthy biosphere for ourselves and for future generations. It is hard and sacred work, and especially in 2020 it often felt isolating and heartrending. But it is also how we will collectively save ourselves and each other from havoc. It is how we will remake our social and economic fabric to embody the secular and faith-based ideals we hold to be self-evident but have never previously fulfilled.
And so we begin 2021 by celebrating you. Individually, and collectively. You are not alone. We see you and we are honored to share in this work with you.
As you have probably heard me say many times, we believe that it will take all of us working diligently and effectively at our own endeavors to make a meaningful shift. And also if we only work independently of one another, massively in parallel, we will not catalyze the transformative change we seek. To achieve a fundamental system upgrade will require us collaborating as an intricately and intimately interconnected community, amplifying and supporting each other in every way we possibly can. The future is indeed already here; it is up to us to manifest and distribute it.
So any time we might conspire together for good in this year or beyond, please contact us. We are all in this together.
