Maybe it’s the time distortion field created by the pandemic. Contemplating the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder and all the excited utterances made by corporations, financial institutions, politicians, and others over the course of last summer, I keep hearing a tired old playground riddle in my head: April showers bring May flowers. What do Mayflowers bring? Pilgrims!
